Seastraws + Local Business Network Sunshine Coast

Last week we had the opportunity to chat to Alan at the Local Business Network Sunshine Coast. They're taking this time to help support and embrace local businesses here on the Sunshine Coast and we're thrilled to be a part of this.

If you want to know what was said, here it is:

Seastraws are open for business! 😀

I recently had the pleasure of having a Zoom chat” with Mimmi Sandstrom and her partner Adam . They are a surfing 🏄‍♀️Sunshine Coast couple 🏄‍♂️and the people behind Seastraws 🥤. It was really interesting to hear how they help individuals and businesses reduce the use of single-use plastic items by offering superior alternatives.

“Our goal is to reduce the amount of plastic waste that's entering our oceans every single day. Our core product is our own beautiful and strong glass straws and straw cases. We also offer leak-proof takeaway smoothie cups from a Denver based company called EcoJarz, who has distribution here on the Sunshine Coast.
Before COVID-19 hit we had a steady income from our eco-warrior stockists and local markets. Unfortunately, both of these channels have been reduced significantly and we now rely on the sales from our online store Our online store is still operating per usual and we now offer free shipping for pickup in Warana. If you're interested in this service, please contact us by email or reach out on Instagram or Facebook (@seastraws).
In regards to cleanliness and safety, nothing has really changed for us since COVID-19. We always make sure our products are cleaned and sanitized when packing the orders and we'll continue doing so.”

“We can't wait to be back at the markets but until then you'll only find us online (or in the surf😉). We'll "see" you there!"
